Present Status of Infectious Diseases of Fish in Japan

Aquaculture is becoming more important in the overall fishery sector in Japan. As intensive aquaculture develops, many infectious diseases are found in fish farms and hatcheries. This paper considers the current status of our knowledge of the infectious diseases. The areas of discussion include fish diseases in farms, hatcheries and natural waters. Overviews are given of fish vaccination and fish health regulations.
