A price analysis of the valuation of Spanish mackerel from Kyoto in Okayama market
—A panel analysis with fixed effect—

Sawara (Spanish mackerel) is an important target species for set net fishery in Kyoto, and most of the sawara caught there is sold in Okayama Central Market. This study analyzes values of the sawara from Kyoto in the market by the econometric method. The price is usually determined according to quality and quantity. Therefore, this study treated qualitative and quantitative factors simultaneously in a panel data analysis. The results show that the price of Kyoto's sawara has the potential to be increased by 12% by marketing.
